Merdeka a.k.a. Mum's Bday

1957 August 31st is when Malaysia turns independent! On this particular date and year, a girl was born and she's my mum. She's a Merdeka baby! Probably when Tunku Abdul Rahman was announcing that Malaysia has gained its independence, this is when this great woman brought to the world by grandma. :D

So on this date, we had a dinner with Mum and a few of my relatives in a restaurant nearby. Not much picture on the food, but I particularly like this dessert.

Red Bean Tong Yuen. It wasn't sweet. It was just nice. I likey. :)

Mum's 53rd Birthday cake. Looks like 13th huh? I didn't know that bigger candle can also be a significant 50.
