The biggest question mark for me is.. why NO FEEDBACK? was it because my result is so damn bad to the level I'm not qualified to undergo my internship? or was it because my resume written was not pretty enough? doubt so as I have friends with almost similar format in writing resume. or was it my picture attached in my resume is ugly/scary that freaks out the HRs? >.<
Let's look through the list of companies I went for my internship interview:
1) Nuffnang Sdn Bhd- located at Jalan Yap Ah Shak, KL. A very small company in Heritage House deals with blog advertising. I went on 5th April 2010 and got rejected on the spot itself. I don't want to elaborate more on this company.
2) Fushionex- has their motto of "Bridging Business & Technology". It is located in Amcorp Trade Center, PJ. I actually applied on 4th May and I got a call on that day itself to go for an interview on 5th May. How efficient they are. LOL! For this company, I went with my roommate/coursemate- Ying Chian. She drove me together to the company early Wednesday morning but we were interviewed seperately. crap lar this co.. asking me ALL technical questions from all technical skills I wrote in my resume. This company asked me to return for second interview after I've accepted offers. so, sorryy.. no second interview with your company.
3) T-Systems- is a division of Deutsche Telekom located in Cyberjaya. A huge company and is a MSC status company. I reached there as early as 8am while interview is at 10am on 10th May. Thanks to my cousin for driving me there as I don't know the road in Cyberjaya at all. For this company, if I were selected as their interns, I'll be in the Project Management Team- a new aspect of IT and less technical. I was actually quite liking the work aspect tho. as in not so technical that suits me. The only concern is that if I were to work here, I have to rent a room nearby. I was told that I'll receive a feedback by this week, however, this week has ended and I have yet to receive feedback from them. A week later, an email send to me telling me I got a place there, however, I've signed contract with another company. so, gotta say goodbye and sorry to you.
4) F-Secure Malaysia (M) Sdn Bhd- located in Bangsar South and also a huge company that offers security services. I like the environment around the company a lot. peaceful. Sincerely, for me, I have the most slim chance of getting into this company as it has high requirement. Almost everyone in my faculty will also wish to undergo their interns here as it is a well-established company beside offering quite high allowance for their interns. This company has accepted applications from all the smart people in my uni. My interview session is on 12th March. I was interviewed by 4 interviewers. They are all real nice people. I was asked to choose to either join the programming team or the mobile testing team. However, I told them whether in which team, it'd be a new thing for me to learn. The interview session went off very well and I'm quite happy with my communication skills with them.------------- around 4pm, I received a call from F-Secure HR, Richard Lam that I'm accepted to undergo my interns there. At that moment, no words can describe my feelings. *wink*. I was told that I'll be put into the Mobile Testing Team with my manager- Mr. Simpson. and I have my contract signed on 14th May.
For me, I felt blessed as being accepted into such well established company. I always do not trust that I'll have a single mini chance of getting into this company at all. Thank God for listening to my prayers and thanks to all my family and friends for the support and prayers too. After the contract signing, I felt a HUGE relief that has been on my shoulder for 2months.
I'll promise to do good for the company and learn up everything that me, as an IT student should know. I'll start my internship on 5th July and last for about 20weeks. I'll be receiving allowance. :) I'm in the same company with the boyfriend. :) - different team and we did not plan to do this internship together. just luck being selected in the same company. OH NOO! no more sleeping late till 12pm. :( no more slaking around. :(
All the best to all my faculty-mates in their interns too! I'll be graduating in a year time. :)
